When you get a reply, there is a small X that will delete that reply if you deem it to be abusive, trollish, etc. I think in my years here I've used it maybe twice. I like to let the trolls be seen for what they are.

I wouldn't get too caught up in how others use the Dismiss feature. Frankly, I find a nice feature to have, and I've made use of it here and there. If you're worried that someone dismissed your reply, don't be. It is what it is, and it probably wasn't worth the effort of the interaction anyways. You're good.
